Presidential $1 Coin Program The United States Mint honors our nation’s presidents by issuing $1 coins featuring their images in the order that they served. The program began in 2007 with Presidents Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison. The United States Mint issued Susan B. Anthony one dollar coins from 1979 through 1981 and then again in 1999. Although you do not find them in circulation very often, they are quite common and inexpensive. However, there are a few coins that are worth more than your common Susan B. Anthony one dollar coin. However, your regular strike Sacagawea coins are still just worth $1 and will likely only be worth a dollar for the foreseeable future. A moderate exception would be that some of the older rolls do sell for a very small premium over their face value. All Sacagawea coins, while gold in color, have absolutely no precious metals value.
