Friday, Feb. 19
All month TheBar K Beer Tour 2021, 501 Berkley Pkwy., has been extended through March 7 due to inclement weather. That means more time for participants to test all 15 beers on tap this month at the dog park bar and grill space. Participants in the self-paced beer journey around the world will receive a passport and souvenir cup. Registration is $60 for members, $65 for non-members.
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Cafe Cà Phê, located in the West Bottoms’ Firebrand Collective, 1101 Mulberry St., serves up authentic Vietnamese coffee with a side of the culture. The mobile coffee shop is parked indoors with plenty of space to hang out or get work done, all while enjoying a cup of coffee unlike any other in town.
8 – 11 p.m. Make an “appointment” for this Friday night at Kansas City Concrete Co., the newest speakeasy concept at Tom’s Tom Distilling Co., 1701 Main St. Those who get in will be treated to a night of craft cocktails and music from singer-songwriter Lily B. Moonflower.
Saturday, Feb. 20
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Kansas City Fairytale Ball is this weekend at the Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Blvd. Guests can expect a royal entry from the princesses, games and of course plenty of photo opportunities with their favorite princesses. Little ones are encouraged to wear their favorite princess dress or costume. Be sure to sign up for a designated entry time and arrive early. Tickets start at $20.
9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Join 100 Black Men of Greater Kansas City and KC Soul on Saturday morning for ‘Game Changers,’ an online conversation on the greats, game and legacy of Negro Leagues Baseball. Panelists include Kansas City Royals manager of community partnerships and events Angel McGee, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum president Bob Kendrick and museum co-founder Larry Lester. The event is free to stream.
5 p.m. Kansas City hip hop and soul collective Nublvckcity will play a Crown Crafted Music Series set on Saturday night. The performance will be streamed live online on Facebook, in addition to on the radio at One Kansas City Radio 100.1 FM.
8 p.m. If you are looking for something to do besides streaming a new TV show or movie, Revolution Records is taking its February open poetry event digital once again this month. Anyone can tune in to the Facebook Live stream for free. Keep an eye out for a list of participating readers.
Sunday, Feb. 21
2 – 5 p.m. Drinking beer with best friends for a good cause? Sign up for Transport Brewery’s four rounds of Best Friend Bingo this Sunday afternoon, 11113 Johnson Drive. The dog friendly event will raise money for Great Plains SPCA and dish out local prizes for each game’s winner. Each bingo buy in is $10 and includes a beer or wine. Arrive early as space is limited.
5 p.m. Don’t tell the Comets there’s no live sports in Kansas City. The indoor soccer team that calls Cable Dahmer Arena, 19045 E. Valley View Pkwy., in Independence home is set to take on the Dallas Sidekicks Sunday evening. Tickets for socially distanced seating start at $19
